If there is one makeup product I am addicted to, it has to be a red lipstick. I am willing to give up almost all of my makeup, if I have a red lipstick in my bag I can put on my lips any time and feel fabulous in a second. Gabrielle Chanel was also known for her dominant red lips, and just like me, made the red lipstick her trade mark. Red was the inspiration for Chanel's 2018 holiday collection, Numeros Rouges that arrived at my door just on time for the new year and my upcoming birthday (11.1, if you were wondering). Chanel are known for emphasizing colors in their collections, and I find myself drawn towards these collections that offer a unique point of view of these colors, and translate them into interesting yet wearable makeup products.
The red lipsticks are of course the main attraction of the collection, and as such you will find no less than four new shades in various textures. I have tried three of them, of which No.2, a cherry-red in a matte texture is by far my favorite. Other than this one, you will find No.4, an orange-red, No.1 a classic red and No.3, a deep rich brown-red. Besides the red lipsticks you will also find a two beautiful glosses from the Rouge Coco Gloss series I have tried and loved in the past. Romance 784 is an extremely comfortable and not sticky gloss, that gives the lips a beautiful hint of color, as if you have just finished eating a sweet red Popsicle.
Surprisingly enough, the eye products of the collection are the ones I like best. The color choice is interesting and you can find various range of colors from classic cream, magnificent bronze and deep, dark forest green, The cream shadow Silver Screen/Satin is my personal favorite from the collection. I like applying it all over the lid with my finger, blending it into the crease and finishing up with some mascara. The eye pencil Legendary Green 857 is one to look out for, as it is not only extremely long wearing, but has a unique color that will compliment various eye colors. In the collection you will also find a beautiful eye pallet containing five rich shades, a highly pigmented blush, a mascara and of course matching nail polishes, to finish up the look.
