La Petite Robe Noire Lipstick by Guerlain | Review, photos, swatches

La
Petite Robe Noire is one of Guerlain’s most popular perfumes, and now
the company is releasing a new lipstick line under the same name. Timing
is everything when it comes to new launches, and as the Jewish answer
to Valentine’s Day is just a few days away, these lipsticks are now
hitting the stands. I have never been a fan of forced celebrations of
love, and am a strong believer of celebrating love each and every day of
our lives. Gift sets and love letters? No thanks! So I hereby proclaim
this day as a ‘loving myself’ kind of day, and a new lipstick
beautifully packed is defiantly the way to celebrate.

La
Petite Robe Noire lipstick collection includes 20 new shades that were
created by Oliver Echaudemaison, the brand’s artistic director. The
packaging is beautiful and takes inspiration from the original perfume
bottle: sturdy plastic with a eye-catching heart detail that you have to
twist for the lipstick to emerge. The lipsticks are made from a mixture
of pure oils that give plenty of moisture to the lips and provide the
option to either go for a sheer wash of colour or a stronger stroke of
colour, all depending on the number of layers one chooses to aply. Don’t
expect a dominant lip look, as these colours are semi-sheer and have a
glossy finish. On the other hand, you can expect an addictive feeling of
softness to your lips. This also means that you will have to re-apply
the lipstick after drinking or eating, and also from time to time
throughout the day.
Lilac Belt 069* may
seem a bit punk-rock at first glance, but on the lips this purple shade
is very delicate with just the right amount of pink in it. Notes of the
original perfume are embedded in the perfume, and they are easily
recognizable as you open the lipstick’s cap. After applying the lipstick
these notes are detectable but fade away with time. I’m personally
quite sensitive when it comes to smells but I wasn’t bothered by this
smell. On the other hand, I can’t use L’Oreal lipsticks because of their
perfume, so if you are very sensitive I would recommend trying the
lipstick in store before you purchase it. Once purchased, you will be
addicted! 2.8 grams | 161 NIS.
