I find it strange that sometimes deep and meaningfull questions can arise when playing around with makeup products. One of these questions touches on our habbits in life, and the effect they have on us. Do we miss many new and interesting opportunities just because we prefer what is known and safe? I guess the answer is yes, and as one who does not like to leave her comfort zone, I usually choose what I know I already love. When in comes to makeup, it is usually a bold, matte lipstick. As temperatures rise, I find myself looking for lighter formulas that won’t feel heavy on my skin and lips, and a sheer, shiny gloss, is definitely a good option.
The new Rouge Coco Gloss collection was developed in collaboration with Lucia Pica, Chanel’s global creative makeup and color designer, and the colors are indeed stunning. One especially stole my heart: Caractere is a cherry-red gloss (seen on me in the first photo), that gives the lips the most beautiful hint of flattering color. The gloss has a unique applicator, larger than ones I have used in the past, and an oil-like texture that feels extremely comfortable on the lips.
24 wearable, fresh shades make up the collection, that will flatter any light, summer makeup look. The company also released three interesting top coats to use over standard lipsticks. In order to brighten the shade use Excitation, a golden transparant gloss, if you want to warm up the color use Impulsion, a neon orange shade, and if you are like me and prefer a darker and deeper lip color try Caviar, a sheer black. As a girl who rarely used glosses in the past because I didn’t like their sticky feeling on my lips, I am happy to say that Chanel created the perfect formula for me. This feels more like a moisturizing sheer balm on the lips, rather than an old-school standard gloss. The glosses retail for 200 NIS and can be found at Chanel stands.
