When talking about high-end skincare, Chanel is with no doubt one of the top brands out there. Using Chanel skincare is a treat not only for the skin, but for the soul. The years of research and thought put into Chanel’s new luxurious face cream – Sublimage L’Extrait de Creme, have resulted in an outstanding (and pricey) product.
Chanel invested 15 years of research on the Vanilla Planifolia plant. In their open-sky laboratory Chanel invested time nurturing, nourishing and then harvesting every part of the plant, from the leaves to the fruit. This product contains the highest concentration of the unique plant, which not only regenerates the skin, but repairs and protects it.
Packed in a beautiful, dark, heavy container, the cream has a surprisingly light-weight texture. As I have tried the previous cream from the sublimage range (Sublimage le creme texture supreme), I was expecting a thicker consistency from this cream, but was pleasantly surprised by its airy texture. It is rapidly absorbed into the skin, leaving it glowing and radiant, without any tacky feeling. As I spend so many hours travelling and on planes, my skin needs hydration, and I enjoy the consistency and feel of this product on my skin.
With this cream, a little goes a long way, and I suggest using it sparingly. I warm a small amount between my fingers, and then gently press it onto the skin. Chanel suggests using your hands closed into a fist, and lightly massaging the face in an upward and outward motion. It has a fresh, floral scent, and though I personally prefer less fragrance in my skincare products, I find it does not irritate my sensitive skin.
As with all Chanel’s products, it maintains the luxury and quality associated with the brand, and, in fact, pushes this to the next level. I could imagine myself giving it as a pre-wedding gift, or incorporating it in my skincare routine before a special event, as the results are visible to the naked eye in a very short time.
