Pretty Pastel Makeup | Review, photos, swatches

If you follow my blog, you might have already figured out that pastel colours in makeup were not quite my cup of tea. A quick glance into my makeup bag will
usually reveal some loved basic products, as well as with dramatic
lipsticks that leave no room for doubt. Lately though, something has
changed and I find myself drawn to soft shades,
that seem to be the way to go this season. There is something very
beautiful about the delicate glowy look that can be achieved by using
pastel colours. This post is all about pastel products that complement
each other in an elegant feminine dance of soft shades.

Bourjois
Paris has just released four new nail polishes for summer, as part of
the 1 Second Gel Drop series. As with other nail polishes from this
series that I have tried in the past,
these too are equipped with a small wide brush that makes the task of
painting one’s nails very easy. They do actually dry rather quickly,
making them a perfect choice to through into my flight attendant bag. 9
ml | 48 NIS.
Pastel
Times* by MAC is a small eyeshadow pallette that was actually the main
reason for me writing this post. It has some interesting rich colours
such as Spice Bar (first row on the right) and Free Roaming and Restless
Rose (middle row on the right and middle). While using Fix + did make
it easier to build up colour with most of he shades, Flounce (second row
from the left) and Sweet Green (third row from the right) stayed rather
sheer and dull. 231 NIS, in MAC stores and online.

In
the summer, a good powder is a must if you want to look somewhat put
together. Beyond Perfecting Powder* by Clinique is a good choice for the
hot days, as it is light on the skin yet one can create a good lever of
coverage without it looking too heavy. Like the liquid foundation from
this series that promises these benefits as well. Do I feel this set it
apart from other powders on the market? Not really, but the powder
itself is good. Alabastar 2 is one of 8 colours that suit skin types 2, 3
and 4 by Clinique. 14.5 grams | 260 NIS.
You
don’t need much in summer in order to create a fresh look that is put
together. A cream eye shadow in a light colour will make every eye-look
special and vibrant, especially if it’s a cool shimmery colour. Glorious
Silver* from the Ombre Couture line by Givenchy, is a silver eye shadow
with a beautiful sheen to it, that adds a glamorous touch to the eyes.
It looks best when patted on top of a base colour, to add vibrance and
shine to the look. 4 grams | 120 NIS.
Essie
Professional is bringing back to the shelves some loved colours from
the past. The nail polishes are equipped with a professional formula and
a slim long brush, made especially for professional use (and sold only
in salons). Though I personally prefer short, wide brushes such as the
Bourjois one, i’m willing overlook this as the colours and durability of
the nail polishes are excellent. Cabana boy* is a very light grey with a
Perl undertone, that makes one’s hands look neat and feminine. Birthday
Suit* may not be the most interesting colour, but it is a classic nude
that always looks beautiful, especially in summer. 13.5 ml only at
salons.
